What are "Internet Releases"?

The prolific nature of Prince generates dozens of songs per year. During the 1980s and 90s, the standard practice for musical performers was to produce an album every 2–3 years, supported by tours in between. Prince produced much more material than the average artist and since the record companies limited the number of albums he could release, Prince looked for alternate ways of releasing more music. One of these ways was through the Internet. This section contains lyrics to songs that have been released through the Internet by Prince, through his various websites: www.love4oneanother.com, www.npgonlineltd.com and www.npgmusicclub.com. If any songs are officially released on record, they will be listed in the appropriate section at that time. Song descriptions are provided courtesy of UPTOWN Magazine, with permission, and the DTT.

What formats are used for lyrics?
