Since 1978, Prince has released more than 30 albums. Most were as "Prince", some with The Revolution or the New Power Generation and some as . Not all of these albums were major releases or are still in print. The albums Kamasutra, Xpectation and N.E.W.S were all instrumental albums and not listed here. The Beautiful Experience, the first "album" by is a collection of remixes of "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World". The Black Album was a limited release in 1994 of the album originally cancelled in 1987. The Truth was only available with the Crystal Ball set. Newpower Soul, although an NPG album, is included here because all lead vocals are by . Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic is a remix album of Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, only available through the NPG Music Club. One Night Alone... was given to members of the NPG Music Club in 2002. Lyrics format notes

We use what is affectionately referred to in the Prince community as "Princebonics" for our transcriptions, such as "2" instead of "too" and "to", "4" instead of "for", etc. This may conflict with official lyrics sheets but we felt it was more consistent this way. Also:
